What is Minecraft? (Part 1 of 2)

'Minecraft is a sandbox-building independent video game.....' It is written in java originally  by a Swedish person named Markus "Notch" Persson. Now ran by his company Mojang, who is currently working on making minecraft for iOS, and Xbox360 with kinect support! The game was released on November 7, 2011. It was inspired from games like Infiminer and Dwarf Fortress.

  2. Ok, but what is the point? What do you do when you logon? Is there an end game, does it ever finish? Are there mechanisms that make it interesting?

  3. Convictus - This is the problem I have with Minecraft too, but people who can get past that say it amazing. Essentially Lego but on a computer!

  5. In Minecraft, you set your own goals, which may or may not be your thing. If you don't have one yet, try building a castle. That always start your imagination of what you can possibly do.
